Cougar or Bob Cat? I think this is a Cougar Mountain Lion. I took the photo while walking on Hopewell road after landing out behind the ranger station. About a 1/4 mile for the gas station. Cougar was about 50 yards from me. Photo taken at 6X zoom. The reason I think it was a Cougar is the size. It was about 50 yards away, I have seen many Bob Cats and this was a Cougar or an very large Bob Cat. The close up crop photo looks more like a Bob Cat on the uneven coloring, but that may be just the lighting and the nose size and eyes spread. However it could be either. I was on the opposite other side of the road and it look so big I did not make any movement towards it to find out which it was. And unlike many other Bob Cats I have seen in the wild, this one showed no fear. Yet I had an instinctive fear when I saw it and I have never had this feeling with Bob Cats.
